Adventure Time!

Season 1 and 2 are silly episodic fantasy adventures. Starting with season 3 the writers decided to go a bit deeper than fart jokes and is why I love the show and why its so so intresting, rather than write a new show they expanded on this initally silly creation.

S3E10 "What Was Missing" is one of my all time favorite episodes, containing "I'm Just Your Problem" a song expressing a rough history between Bubblegum and Marceline, and Marcelines desire to fix things and the frustrations and denial she has about it all. (this song is also the first but very vague tease towards bubbline), the episode does not end with any of Marceline's feelings resolved, which is incredibly realisitc for a childrens show.

Skipping to season 3 episode 20, the show reveals that Ice King is actually a human being who slowly went insane and isnt actually a mad evil villian, which is sad but only the start of how sad the show makes things. Season 4 episode 25 "I Remember You" is fucking heartbreaking. turning goofy evil villian into a story that legitiamlly made me cry the first.. and second.. time i watched (i even get teary eyed on rewatchs still). I refuse to spoil anything from this episode it is so good, but I feel it stands really strong BECAUSE the show starts off so silly so its really a punch to the heart when you think back to every other episode before with Ice King.
